A Dedicated Team
Since 2018, Starter Kit is a team of dedicated international students who all feel passionate about welcoming new students to the Netherlands the best we can. Our family grew to six people and includes five nationalities.
After testing our flagship product, “The Kit”, in Amsterdam, and thanks to the effort of our partners
and our own team, we are glad to now provide service in all of the Netherlands.
We won’t stop here.

Meet the team
The Starter Kit Story
Justin and Luca touched down at Amsterdam Schiphol airport in August 2017. Just like all international students, they were as excited as ever, having looked forward to this moment for months. Their tightly packed suitcases included their best clothes to impress the girls, most memorable photos for their room, and a raincoat for the Dutch weather.
However, while the University had reserved a student room for them, including a mattress, a kitchenette and some furniture, they realized they would face a problem: After an energetic welcome party (to say the least), they knew they would be returning to a bed without comfy sheets, to a kitchen without pots or pans, or a bathroom without soft towels.
The following days consisted of long, painful bus rides to Ikea and lugging big blue bags around the city just to be able to sleep that night. Their Dutch classmates had already started socializing without them, and as a result, they made no friends… (okok I’m joking haha).
Nevertheless, they knew the disregarding of international students couldn’t continue. So they set out to solve the problem for all future students, and in 2018, created Starter Kit.

We are proud to share that in early 2020 our head of operations, Justin Warambourg, was invited as a TEDx speaker in The Hague.
In his talk, he presented the origins of the upcycling process and how each one of us can, at our level, make a big impact.
